UK - ROMANIA: An epic adventure!
Hi, I'm Luke. I'm 19 years old and I love to ride my bike. I'm currently living and working in Cluj-Napoca, Romania but grew up in Suffolk, England. I have a bike here, but my real road bike is back at my parents place in the UK. I want to bring it here to ride during the summer, and what better way to get it here than riding it! I will be taking a flight back to the UK at the start of March, spending a week or so with my parents then starting my trip back to my life in Cluj. Starting early March I will be riding from UK to Romania. I will cross Dover - Calais, ride to Cologne, down the Rhine, along the Danube to Budapest, then to Oradea and finishing in Cluj-Napoca. I will be traveling ultra light, riding a road bike and only camping under a tarp or couchsurfing. I aim to cover 100 km a day, almost every day and complete the ~2400 km trip in about a month. I have previous experience in long distance cycle touring and am prepared for a serious adventure. If you are interested in joining me for part or all of my trip and are fit, ambitious and up for an adventure then get in touch. You don't need fancy equipment, lots of money or experience; just a good attitude, a bike and a smile.
