Briancon-Torino

Briancon-Torino This is a gravel bike tour that follows a part of the Torino-Nice Rally route https://torino-nice.weebly.com, but in the reverse direction, which is somewhat less strenuous. There are still three difficult climbs. Road surfaces are about 60/40 road to gravel. We follow a high route in the southern Alps on the French-Italian border. Passage on the dates indicated is contingent on the '22-'23 snowpack being near or below normal. I would be traveling from Paris toward Briancon on April 9th. We'd leave Briancon for Sestriere on the 16th. Then one or two days each in Sestriere, Casa Assieita, Alpe Pintas, Condove, Viu, and Torino. I'll be taking the train back to Paris around May 7th. My dates are flexible. My intent is to stay in hotels or rifugios when possible, but I will bring a sleeping bag and tent just in case. Nights will probably be near freezing at higher elevations. A GPX file is attached. The trip requires a good level of fitness, but I intend to take it slow. It's no problem for me if someone joins, finds the pace too slow, and goes off on their own. Anyone under 60 and in good shape can keep up with me.
