Chill Coastal Tour from Portland to San Francisco

I'm a 22 year old guy about to graduate from college. I've got some time between graduating and starting work and want to get into touring. I'm new to touring but I want to do my first trip along the pacific coast from Portland to San Francisco. I'm in good shape and work out and bike regularly so I was thinking of doing 50 miles a day or 40 if it's hilly. I'm in no rush to get to San Francisco and I'm happy to meander and do fewer miles per day if it means exploring cool places or doing something interesting. For sleeping, I was planning on mostly camping out with occasional motels/hostels mixed in.
